Oil pushes construction
material prices up
Construction material
prices showed a significant increase in April 2005, according to
the relevant data released on Monday. Specifically, prices showed
an increase of 6.2% compared to April 2004, while prices in March
and February had recorded an increase of 6.3% and 7.9%
respectively. This slowdown in April pushed the total increase in
January-April down to 7.78% against the corresponding period of
2004.
Increased prices are mostly attributable to the sharp increase in
the cost of oil products, which stood at 42%! The increase in the
price of timber products dropped to 4.9%, chemical products to
5.6% and industrial products to 5.6%. Electrical goods prices
slipped 0.2%. |
